About Me...
I started in the investment industry in 2005, working as an administration clerk before moving my way gradually to the ‘front office’ and advising clients. I have always had a fascination with investment markets and additionally, what makes people tick. What makes some people more successful than others? How do some people seemingly just keep growing their wealth, whatever the world throws at them?
I was once told that money doesn’t make you happy, but it can give you freedom. That idea has never left me – with money (or perhaps more accurately, wealth) you can choose to spend your time on what you like. The same is true for your children or family members– they do not have to chase a high paying job for example, they can choose to spend their life on something that interests them, not just that can give them a certain lifestyle. At a higher level, wealth also leads to healthier children, who can live longer lives and contribute more to society. So, the more that we understand about how to build, preserve and grow wealth, the better off we will all be.
Finally, I believe that the wealthy can also be empowered to help our world. They have the ability to make a difference to everyone’s lives through charity and philanthropic work. They can fund projects to give children better nutrition, put a roof over their heads, to research into diseases, to fund healthcare and vaccination programs and more besides.
I enjoy blending investment technical knowledge with the arguably more ‘soft’ skills of trying to explain how wealth works to the younger generation, the benefits of having wealth that lasts more than one generation and giving the younger members of families the skill set (not just the cash) that they need to take the baton and grow the family wealth, with their own values and input.
Outside of my job of helping families and individuals, I can be often be found with my own family, or indulging my other passion, classic cars and endurance motor racing.
